HI, I'M RACHEL!
I started Blue Ribbon Beauty because I saw something the horse show world was lacking: makeup built for the show ring. Growing up with two brothers, I didn't touch a makeup brush or have any idea what a highlighter was until I started showing horses at age 13. And I wanted nothing to do with it. My trainer enjoyed watching my pain, and made it a rule that I had to wear it at shows. No exceptions. At the time I hated her for it, but I soon learned how valuable it was.
Judges are looking for the prettiest picture, and first impressions are everything. A crisp show outfit, flawless makeup, (and perfect equitation) make all the difference. If they can't decide between first and second, they might start getting really picky. The perfect red lip with a great smile could be what separates you from all the rest.
Oh, I almost forgot! We haven't been formally introduced. My name is Rachel; I’m an amateur rider who's been showing since 2013. I’ve got a little grade rescue mare named Sara who does everything with me. We show all disciplines at open breed shows as well as ranch and reining in ARHA. I also love playing around with painting, and all of the artwork on Blue Ribbon Beauty's products are by yours truly! When I'm not kissing pony noses, I'm probably playing the harmonica, hugging my cats June and Johnny, or watching Magnum PI.
